Today, Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic, a leader in comprehensive orthopedic services and an M2 Orthopedics (M2O)-backed practice, is announcing the opening of a groundbreaking new facility for orthopedic surgeries, along with the first VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted knee replacement surgery in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) in the state of Maryland. The Harborside Surgery Center is well-known in the D.C. area as the premier facility for orthopedic surgeries, and with the launch of the new space, patients with complex cases can be managed more efficiently with large procedure rooms, state-of-the-art equipment, and improved amenities.

William G. Hamilton, MD, a fellowship-trained specialist in the field of hip and knee reconstruction and one of the leading joint replacement surgeons in the area, performed the VELYS™ Robotic-Assisted surgery, which uses intra-operative data unique to each patient. During the procedure, the technology is utilized to increase the accuracy and precision of the knee replacement, allowing patients to get back to their daily routine faster by optimizing surgical outcomes. The state-of-the-art technology simplifies total knee arthroplasty and offers versatile execution, verified performance, and valuable insights to maximize efficiency for surgeons and optimize patient outcomes.

“This is a hallmark moment for Anderson – in our eight decades of serving the D.C. area, we continue to look for new opportunities to expand our services and innovate. The opening of this surgery center and the integration of next-generation robotics in the outpatient setting allows us to serve our patients in even more meaningful ways,” said George C. Branche, III, MD, Medical Director of Harborside and surgeon with The Anderson Clinic. “As a premium destination for orthopedic surgeries, Harborside boasts some of the best surgeons from the DMV, including top physicians from our own clinic as well as Dr. Cassie G.
